Local Rabbit Savvy Vet Recommendations

Choosing a veterinarian is an important part of rabbit ownership. Most small animal veterinarians work only with cats and dogs--rabbits are considered exotics. They require special care and someone with the training needed to handle their unique physiology. Here is a list of rabbit vets in the Kansas City area.

Get established with a rabbit savvy vet and have emergency numbers & resources ready.

  • Wellness checks should be done 1-2 times per year
  • Cost varies depending on what is done during visit.
  • Most vets do nail trims! (For a small fee)
  • RHDV2 vaccine booster (First time injections are a 2 shot serious, then a yearly booster)

Please Note: Dutchie Buns Rescue cannot provide your bunny with medical care. If you have reason to think there is a problem with your bunny, please get them to a rabbit experienced vet asap! It is important to treat any rabbit illness quickly as they can soon turn serious.

Please Note:

Please note that the practices listed below may have more than one veterinarian working. The vets we have listed are the ones we know and trust working with rabbits.

Not all vets have emergency services, check with your vet.
