Litter Box | Option 1

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar. *This one is grea

Do not get those little corner boxes that are marketed for rabbits. They are way too small and uncomfortable for rabbits.  You want to give your rabbit enough space to fit into and turn around inside the box. Typically, this means a larger cat litter box is best (or just a large plastic bin), but smaller rabbits would be fine with a smaller kitten litter box.

So Phresh Dog Litter Box, Large

Litter Box | Option 2

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

Ceramic Food/Water Dish

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

Less movement compared to lightweight bowls, prevents slipping and spilling. Durable ceramic prevents tipping and additional moving which will ensure happy and comfortable eating.

Ceramic Stoneware Pet Bowl for Cats and Small Dogs, Classic Heavy Duty

Anti-gravity Water Dish

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

Research has shown that water intake tends to be significantly higher with a water bowl and rabbits drink up to three times more water from open dishes. In addition, a study with rabbits kept in groups has shown higher levels of aggression when water was provided in a water bottle compared to a bowl.

PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station

DIY Hay Feeder

This is one example of how to make a hay feeder, you can also just put a pile of hay in your litter box.

Adding hay directly to your rabbit’s litter box is a great practice because rabbits like to munch and poop at the same time. By including the hay inside your rabbit’s litter box, you are encouraging them to have better litter training habits.

Everyday Care Supplies

Nail Clippers

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

Rabbit's nails can grow to be very long and sharp and will be uncomfortable for the rabbit. If the rabbit has light colored nails, they are very easy to trim. You can see the blood inside the nail, and you clip just before that point. The dark colored nails are harder to see where they should be clipped but it is still visible.

Grooming Brush | Option 1

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

Rabbits need to be brushed at least weekly. In addition to removing any loose hair, this weekly brushing session helps prepare them for the multiple daily brushings that they must undergo when their heavy shedding begins. Rabbits will shed in different ways.

Grooming Brush | Option 2

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

FURminator

Carrier

This is one brand that we recommend, but there are others out there that are similar.

The carrier should be big enough for your rabbit to turn around comfortably and lay down lengthwise inside. If a carrier is too large, there is a much higher chance of injury. For most rabbits, a small cat carrier is the best size.  Carriers that are about 19-20 inches long are a good size for most rabbits. For large rabbits, you’ll want to get the next size up.

Hideaway

Rabbits are prey animals. It’s therefore very important that your bunnies have somewhere to hide when they feel threatened.

A hideaway is also essential if you have more than one rabbit.

Simply by using cardboard boxes.

  • Cut a rabbit-size hole in each side of a cardboard box.
  • Add a few smaller holes to create windows that your bunnies can peek through.
  • Add more rooms to the bunny house by lining up other boxes with matching holes cut in them to form passages into the neighboring boxes.

Be ready to replace some of your bunny castle’s rooms from time to time as they will undoubtedly get chewed!

Ball pit

Ball pit

Bunnies are burrowing creatures, so getting them a tunnel will give them a space to run and play in and also a space that is safe for them.

You can purchase cat tunnels, or an 8-inch cardboard concrete form tube from your local hardware store, or you can make your own tunnel using boxes.
