Dutchie Buns Rescue Volunteering

• Transportation: Occasionally we will put a call for drivers to transport buns to local vet office, pick up donations, or deliver supplies.  This is an as needed/on call role. 
• Dumped Bunny Rescue:  Will help with capturing bunnies that are called in or found outside. This could be a multiple day attempts depending on how many bunnies and support we have.  This is an as needed/on call role. (We will help train on this)

Creating and posting posts, monitoring social media activity and replying to messages or directing them to someone from the core team. 

Our socials include Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. 

The team will help with greeting, hosting, planning, set up, breakdown, and fundraising events. Needs to be outgoing, positive and friendly who are dedicated to learning and spreading our message throughout the community. This is an on-call position, and event volunteers can participate in as many or as few as their schedule allows.  

We ask that they participate in at least 4 events a year. 

We offer a sitting service, and this could be to sit rabbit(s) at either your house or the bunny's house.  This is an as needed role.

The sitting service fee goes back into the rescue, but if for some reason you have to cover food costs a portion of that will go back to you to cover those costs. 

Will assist one of the leadership team members to do introductions with potential adopters and bunnies to see if they are a good fit. 

You may be asked to help coordinate with the foster families and transportation teams if needed. Also, may be asked to work with fosters to make sure we have all the information ready to give the potential adopters.  

Administrative volunteers support various areas and help ensure that our programs run smoothly. Tasks might entail writing thank you notes, assembling mailings, help with monthly newsletter, making phone calls (like vet coordination), data entry, putting foster kits together, and preparing and compiling adoption materials. Administrative volunteers should be detail oriented and have basic knowledge of programs such as google sheets, word, and excel.

Vet Coordination: Scheduling Vet appointments for our new intakes, and foster bunnies. Will make updates in our Monday Application on when appts are scheduled and tag Leadership team. Work with transportation lead to schedule drivers if needed to pick up and take bun to the vet.  

Will help with coming up with fundraising ideas, help to plan and run fundraisers. May have to speak with businesses to see if they are willing to donate gift cards, baskets, etc to put towards raffles, fundraising events and more.  

Will work with leadership team to help with educational topics. Help to do research, possibly write education blogs, or help create educational videos. We are always learning new techniques and information about rabbit care, support, housing, medicine, diet and social needs. Ongoing education will be provided.

• Cleaning returned items from fosters
